About

After graduating from University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in music composition in 1991, Rama moved to San Francisco and worked as a composer and sound designer at Earwax Productions. Soon after, he co-founded Pera Studios, specializing in all aspects of post-production audio. During these years, he became a founding member, keyboardist, and musical director of Super Diamond, the nationally touring Neil Diamond tribute band. Rama moved to Los Angeles in 2006, still tours with Super Diamond, and continues to compose music for picture under his new studio name, Cruelty Free Sound. He often collaborates with other composers and musicians on Cruelty Free Sound projects. Rama works primarily in Logic and is experienced with the latest plug-ins. He is also fluent in writing and notating for all live instruments. Recently, he co-orchestrated and managed a 90 minute Super Diamond show, which the band continues to perform accompanied by full symphony orchestra.
